This is my first post for my first blog. I started this blog in response to a friend who wanted to keep up with my exploits on my trip to America in October 2013. The trip started out with a ticket to the Dallas Cowboys vs Denver Broncos football match in Dallas. I have followed the Cowboys since the early 1990s and it has been a long held ambition/dream to see them play in Dallas. I had always been told that it was impossible to get single game tickets to Cowboys games but I decided to make a concerted effort this year. It started with the Cowboys Stadium website from where I was able to purchase the ticket. I chose the Denver game because the Cowboys and Broncos only play each other every 4 years due to the NFL scheduling arrangement. It was also a chance to see Peyton Manning - QB of the Broncos - whose career I have followed since his college days and is regarded as one of the greatest QBs of all time.
While in Dallas I will be staying at the Hotel Adolphus - a lovely old hotel.
I will also be visiting Los Angeles after Dallas and staying at the Beverly Hilton.
I leave Australia on 3 October from Sydney with QANTAS. I will be adding more to this blog between now and then.
